DOMVS is delighted to be supporting the The Classic Beach Volleyball again in 2019. The Classic is Weymouth Beach Volleyball Club’s flagship event. It was the first ever Beach Volleyball event held in Great Britain when it began in 1983. It remains Britain’s most prestigious event and was described by British Beach legend Denise Austin as the ‘Wimbledon’ of British Beach Volleyball.
The event is held on Weymouth’s main beach, voted by TripAdvisor in 2016 as British Beach of the Year, right in the heart of the town and is a few meters from accommodation, restaurants and bars. It is played across up to 10 courts with the Centre Court having seating for 550 supporters and a large marquee for players and officials. The event is a key part of the UKBT and is a Pro Tour event on Sat/Sun and there is also a 3 Star on Friday afternoon and a 1 Star mixed on Sunday.
