Good gardening

The Open Gardens Event in Abbotsbury, which was sponsored by Domvs, was a fantastic success. The organisers were thankful for some summer weather for a change which brought lots of visitors. But they also said that the PR and the distribution of posters raised awareness in advance of the event. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the day and the five gardens which were open to the public were greatly admired. The Domvs signs were much in evidence and very useful in tempting people along in advance and directing them on the day.
The organisers report that close to £1,200 was raised - £560 from tickets (around 200 paying visitors came) and around £600 from plant and cake and refreshment sales. All the proceeds from the event go to the Friends of St. Nicholas (registered charity number XT31464).
