Lulworth 10K a Runaway Success

The first Lulworth 10k race, held last Sunday, proved to be a runaway success and even though conditions were on the wet side it didn’t put off the many spectators who were there to cheer the runners on. We were very pleased to sponsor such a great new event in the running calendar and it attracted a great turnout of entrants all wanting to be the first winner of this major new South West race.

Race director Bob Panton was overjoyed with the day commenting “The first running race in the fabulous setting of Lulworth Park and Castle was a brilliant success with well over 200 runners entering.

The tiny village of Coombe Keynes was besieged by a magnificent spectacle and saw a brilliant win by an 18 year old Fergus Johnson from Egdon Heath Harriers in 40 minutes 50 secs.

The DOMVS Lulworth Castle 10K is now set to be a ‘must do ’ event and our promotion and co-operation on a publicity success was largely down to our sponsors DOMVS.”
