Swanage Pier is a unique structure at the heart of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, visited by over 125,000 people each year. The pier is an integral part of the Swanage sea front, and an important attraction for the area. Dorset County Council has estimated that it contributes over £2.5 million annually to the local economy. Parts of the pier need repairing and replacing, however, before they cause serious damage to the structure. To help raise funds, we are joining Swanage Pier Trust to hold a charity auction on the pier at 3pm on Saturday, 30th July 2016. Local businesses have donated items to be sold off, and we will be the auctioneers. All proceeds will be going to the pier restoration fund, and it’s all part of the Swanage Carnival and Pirate Festival going on over the same weekend. Come along and join in, make a bid and support a great cause.
