A Dream Home Through the Eyes of a Child

We held a reception in Weymouth last week to award certificates to all the Thornlow Prep School pupils who had entered our “Paint your Dream Home” art competition and to announce the winners who had been picked by a panel of judges, including local artist Olivia Nurrish.

The parents who gathered at Al Molo for the early evening presentation thoroughly enjoyed seeing the display of colourful paintings at this chic new venue.

The standard of art was exceptionally good and it was a delight to judge the entries with the overall winner, Ho-Him from Year 5-6, showing exceptional skill. The judges praised his entry highly saying that his work was “magnificent, highly detailed and with extraordinary perspective and that he was an artist of the future” It really did stand out as the winning entry amongst many fine works and it has been a great pleasure being involved with Thornlow Prep School on this project.

The judges were also tasked with picking a painting that we will use as a corporate Christmas card and chose the entry by Emily, also from Year 5-6, because it represented everything a house should be to make it a dream home – warm, inviting and cosy.

The budding artists also all received, very aptly, a DOMVS house money box in addition to their certificates and this seemed to be the highlight of the evening for them!
